Brick and Cobblestone Streets Buffalo, New York previous street | next street | return to main page
1. Street Name: Sussex Street. 2. From location: East from Grider Street between Fernhill Avenue and Litchfield Avenue. 3. To location: Four blocks to intersection with Wyoming Avenue. 4. Material: Brick. 5. Condition: The block between Grider and Durham is in fair condition, with close to 20 large asphalt patches and one brick patch. The three block stretch from Durham Avenue to Wyoming is in good condition. 6. Comments: The intersection of Sussex and Durham, which is also brick, has an interesting change of pattern. A large triangle with a herringbone "seam" extends outward from the end of Durham Avenue almost the entire width of Sussex Street. This is the most unique and dramatic pattern change seen so far. 7. Date of survey: December 2004. |
