Michigan Street Baptist Church

Description:

Michigan Street Baptist Church, Site of an Underground Railroad Station. Before the Civil War, escaping slaves were hidden in a concealed area in the basement of this church until they could escape to freedom in Canada.

Erected by:

Harriet Tubman 300's Club, Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, 1996.
