Originally built by the Women's Educational and Industrial Union in 1894 the building was given to the University in 1915 and named Townsend Hall in honor of Harriet Townsend, the first president of the Women's Union. Erected by: University at Buffalo, State University of New York, 1996. Marker was placed on the 150 year anniversary of the founding of the University. Location: Near Niagara Square. |
