One of the founders of Flag Day, June 14, Sara Hinson devoted her life to the youth of this city as a teacher, department principal, and a member of the board of school examiners. In 1891 she organized her first flag day to commemorate the date on which the Continental Congress adopted out flag - June 14, 1777.
